Questions
Frequently asked questions
01What is a forensic audit of a borrower account?
An independent examination of how a borrower used the money lent: tracing funds, testing end use, and identifying diversion, siphoning, related-party transfers or manipulation of books. Lenders use it to decide whether an account should be classified as fraud and to support recovery.
02Does the borrower get a chance to respond?
It should. Under the RBI’s fraud risk management directions and Supreme Court guidance, borrowers are to be given an opportunity to respond before an account is classified as fraud. Our reports document the evidence clearly so that process is fair and defensible.
03Do you work for NBFCs, insurers and fintechs as well as banks?
Yes. The same skills apply to NBFC lending, insurance claims, payments and digital lending fraud: fund-flow analysis, document and data forensics, and investigations into collusion.
