Guide
How remote eDiscovery from India works
What is eDiscovery as a service?
Instead of building and idling an internal team, you engage a standing team that collects, processes and reviews data for your matters on demand. The work runs on your review platform (or one you approve) and to your protocols; you keep strategic and privilege decisions, and we scale the team to each matter’s volume and deadline.
Does the data have to leave our environment?
Not necessarily. Reviewers can work through secure remote access to a platform hosted by you or your vendor, with download and printing disabled, so documents stay where they are hosted. Collections can likewise be run remotely into your storage. The design is agreed per client and documented for your security team.
What about data protection and professional rules?
Under the EU GDPR and the UK GDPR, access from India to personal data held in Europe or the UK is generally treated as a transfer; India has no adequacy decision from either, so standard contractual clauses (or the UK’s equivalent) and a transfer assessment are usually needed. Australia’s Privacy Act and Canada’s PIPEDA also set accountability rules for overseas disclosure. Indian law (the DPDP Act 2023) permits transfers out of India except to countries the government restricts. For US matters, ABA Model Rule 5.3 and ABA Formal Opinion 08-451 make the instructing lawyers responsible for supervising outsourced work, which our protocols, QC sampling and reporting are designed to support. Your counsel confirms the position for each matter.
Where does the cost advantage come from, and what does it not cost you?
From India’s cost base and from a standing team that does not have to be retrained for every matter. Quality is protected by written review protocols, calibration at the start of each matter, QC sampling, and escalation of hot and privileged documents to your lawyers. Because India’s working day falls in your night in the Americas, your morning in the UK and Europe, and your afternoon in Australia, review can progress around the clock.
How do we start?
With a conversation about your matters, volumes, platforms and security requirements. We then propose an engagement shaped to your scope of work, which can begin with a defined first matter so you can judge quality and pace before a standing arrangement.

- Processing, de-duplication and early case assessment
- Managed first-level, privilege and QC review
- Coding, privilege logs and production support
- Regular metrics on pace, accuracy and spend

Frequently asked questions
Do you work on our review platform?
Yes. Our reviewers work inside the platform you or your vendor host, through secure remote access, to your coding layout and protocol.
Who supervises the review?
Your lawyers set the protocol and make privilege and strategic calls. We provide a matter lead, calibration, QC sampling and reporting so supervision is practical and documented.
Can you collect data remotely from our client’s systems?
Yes. Remote forensic collection preserves laptops, mailboxes and cloud sources with hash verification and chain-of-custody records, without shipping devices.
How are engagements priced?
Commercials are agreed with each client based on the scope of work. Our pricing is competitive, and we shape it around your matters once we understand them.
Which jurisdictions do you support?
We work with law firms and legal teams across time zones, including the Americas, the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada, and have investigated in 11+ countries.
Can you go beyond review?
Yes. Because we are a forensic firm, review can be combined with forensic accounting, fraud investigation, digital forensics and expert evidence on the same matter.
Can you review documents in Indian and foreign languages?
Yes. We review documents and chats in Indian vernacular languages and in international languages, so multilingual collections are handled within one review.
